what size rims for an explorer?

im getting an explorer and want to get some rims for it, so what size would you guys go with? im thinking might as well go with some 22s? what u guys think? i was thinking something like this

20-22" seems good, I definately wouldn't go bigger than 24"s though, I hate donked out cars

ya ive been looking on line and the price from 22 to 24 is pretty big difference, but 20s and 22s not to bad, so night as well go with 22s. im keeping my stock rims for winter.

I was always thinkin 20s but i think 22s would look dam good on an explorer. Nothin bigger than that though. IMO

nothing smaller than 22"....they gonna look like 15's with that wheelwell. i like the first ones, maybe in 23"

I think there is a guy on this website with 26's on his explorer. At one point i think they were for sale in the classifieds. I might be wrong. go with a 35 or 40 series tire, nothing bigger!

i got 22s on mine and wish i had got 24s cause theres still a big gap unless you lower it

any pics? if i get 22s i can use the money i save from the 4s and get a nice alarm. i think thats what im going to do.

you will probably have to lower the stance, but you will also really need an alarm in Detroit.

victoria tire is about the cheapest place you can get them, or ebay. what year is the explorer? if its before a '03 (i think) you will need a lift to get 24s on it. if its later than that, then you can fit 24s iwith no lift, but you will have 30 series tires which are pretty small. i had a 02 and lifted it 1.5" and was able to fit 24s with 35 series tires w/ no rub.

its going to be an 02 or up. this place in detroit advertises 22 with tires for 1500, i might have to go there and see what they got
