What size power/ground cable?

I just moved my system to a new car and my old power cable wouldn't reach the batt. I went to Advance Auto and bought some battery cable this time (0ga, 100% copper) and am using it for both power and ground. Before I just had the 8ga blue and white kit you get from Wal-Mart.

Anyways I guess my questions are; is this dangerous to my amp, considering how much larger the cable is (I'm using Hifonics Brutus 1200w ClassD) and if not will it have any effect on my sound? Because if it doesn't enhance sound or push then I wouldn't suggest for anyone to use it, the stuff is incredibly difficult to work with, not to mention nearly impossible to hide (if you want to run under kick panels anyways.)

Larger cable will be better. And if you plan to upgrade later, you have already set the ground work. 99% of the time 1/0 is suggested around here. Next time check out knukonceptz.com for your wire needs. Great site.

1/0 is a size, i believe 0 gauge is the same size but im not too sure. power and ground should always be the same size.
