what size alt?

i wanna get a new alt for my truck. i will prolly use excessive amperage(has anyone used them, how good are they?) mainly because i learned they are located in alabama, so shipping would be faster and cheaper, and i can drive therr if i have a problem, but what size alt would i need? pa a3000db, and my comp amp plus all the other stuff, i think he has 200a, 250a and 300a, what size would u say? and im low on money so be reasonable

and does this sound like a voltage problem? : when i turn my truck on in the morning, i listen to a cd, for the first 3-4 secs the bass is really good, then after that, it drops down a good bit, but still pretty loud. it also does this if there is a pause in the bass notes like a 10 sec pause it charges up and when bass hits it sounds loud for a couple secs then drops down again. so this sounds like a major electrical prob to me what does everyone think, and also my XXX doesnt seem to move nearly as much as my SX did, at 20/40 my SX moved more than my XXX and sx was on viper1200.1, what is the problem here?

ooh and my lights dim and all that crap

so will a good biut bigger alt help alot, i dont really ever listen to my system with my truck off, so a extra batteries wouldnt be as good as a bigger alt would it?

 
it dosent have internal fuses so u cant really use that theory, but i think it does pull a max of about 180a, so im thinking maybe 250a because im broke or i might get the 200a because it cheaper

does anyone know what size alt is on a blazer? im thinking its 105 but not sure

 
What are the idle amps on those 3 alts you listed? That is what's important...
so you dont drive your car? you just sit in your driveway/garage? i mean think about it...

if you compete in usaci, slap, or whatever sanctioning body that allows you to keep the car running to a certain rpm its important...

 
well, i talked to nathan i tink it is at excessive amperage and i can get a 200a alt that starts charging at 600rpms and does a constant 200a(or there is a smaller alt that dosent start chrging until 750rpms, but i want one that does it at my idle and my truck idles at like 700 or so, but the smaller size alt is cheaper but still does 200a), or one that does 250a, there is only like a 40$ difference, and he has a group buy going on now for here, with 10% offf and an extra 5% if more than 10 people buy

and he price quoted me like 250$(with discout) or so for 200a that starts at 600 rpms, and the other is 40$ more before the discount so maybe like only 35$ more with the disciunt, so some people ned some new alts i know so i can get the xtra discount //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
