What kinda Memphis Sub is this?

though i might be a bit careful buying from someone who has 0 feedback and changed their name recently. Giving someone like that over 500 dollars for a sub.. not something i would do.

Yea I second that, you gotta be very careful with ebay! the only person looking out for you is you. Unfortunately thats true but thats the way it goes, I get several emails a week from "interested buyers" who want this or want that . . yada yada yada

Either way the SHP's are some nice sounding woofers, the store I used to work at had some, if you think thats nuts look for some of the LVS woofers, IIRC double basket behemoths, those are a trip, sold 2 at the store but never heard them, kinda wish I did though, o well

I was just searching ebay and guess what I found? an LVS but this one is an 18" model!! never seen one of these, awesome looking woofer, wish i had the coin for it, click here to go to the auction, me ===> //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/drool.gif.b5e863e893038027711d4402f340dad0.gif haha

the shp is the old mojo, before they went to the modular motors. that particular one has the optional (at the time, can't get it anymore i believe) chrome treatment. we have a blown pair of 15's at the shop, if anyone wants them, pm me.

the lvs subs are a joke. more for show then go. rated 1000wrms, i wouldn't throw more then 750 at one. they sound great, but when your mounting depth is 11.75", location becomes an issue. we have three of them at the shop for $700 each. they retail for $1200 or so. the 18s are a triple basket POS. they discontinued them like a year after breaking them out.

the new mojo line and their entry level pr line are their two best lines, IMO. the m1 is worthless and with the mclass, aren't worth the extra money over the pr. the m3 is a decent woofer and the m3 mojo is a badass sub. but there are better for the money.

yea they arent the end all of woofers but I just like the way they look and the shock factor, i havent heard Memphis stuff for about 2 years now and after they screwed me over with my amps I wont own Memphis any longer but i still like the LVS

my pickup is all memphis, save h/u.

sq 6.5 up front, mclass 4x6 rear, 4x 10" mclass in 2ft^3 sealed under the rear seat. all powered by a big belle. memphis 0 gauge for power and interconnects. it's a great sounding setup, and i have no real issues.

how did memphis screw you on amps? just curious as a friend of mine, james herren, had real bad luck with the 4kws. while powerful, they tend to catch fire @ 14 volts, lol.

well i had 2 older st1000d amps and they needed the rca connects fixed on the one and on the other it needed a new case as the previous owner had spilled a beer on it. Talked to memphis and they said they had a new case for me, I made sure it was a st series case, they said yes. Ok cool, sent them to memphis, they fixed the rca connects on the one and on the other they put a used case on there, it was all nicked and scratched up, i called and they said they didnt have anymore new cases and kinda of chastised me because I was asking for a new case, this is after i paid for a new case too!! So i told them I wanted my money back since they didnt give me a new case and it took me about 2 months to get it back. If they would of told me sorry we dont have any new cases left but we have some used cases that arent too bad, I would of been alright with it, but as soon as I got my money from them i sold every single piece of memphis audio equipment i had and vowed I will never own anymore memphis audio. If thats the way they treat their customers with returns Ill pass thanks, theres plenty of other companies out there who will treat their customers with respect.

their rca connections are junk, lol.

it's a shame they did that. the st series and the first mclass are the last of the good cases. the new mclass's are ugly. even my belle.

yea they are fugly, i used to love memphis, everything in my truck was memphis, speakers, wires, subs etc. And I used to work at a car audio store and when the owner was selling the business he gve us the option to buy stock at a very good discount. I bought a bunch of memphis stuff bc i wanted to make sure I had it if I needed it since there arent too many dealers around here.

After that everything was sold sold sold on ebay, not a second thought to it. so I went to arc audio and image dynamics and couldnt be happier. sssssooooo glad it did happen b/c i like the arc/image stuff a whole lot better, the speakers sound so much better and the amps are so much clearer. but hey thats the way things go, i still like the lvs just bc of the shock value but i wouldnt own one, id take 2 idmax's over 1 lvs anyday.

I also agree that the LVS are nice interesting looking showpieces, but don't have much output IMO....When IASCA world finals came to Memphis a few years back, I spent a lot of time around the Memphis products (having owned and used the PR, MClass, HPO series)..

I heard the triple basket LVS 18", inverted mounted in a small hatch and it sounded pretty bad...VERY weak output and so so SQ...could've been poorly installed and tuned but I'd think the Memphis crew would've been on top of things for the even...

Shane Baddier's (former Grizzly) Denali had 2 HPO 12s ported in a small custom f'glass enclosure firing up/back and it murdered the LVS/hatch setup...

I'm still debating on throwing my HPO 15" DVC into my van to replace the Treo TSX 12"...
