So you think just an Electrical Engineering bachelors from a Public 50/50 co-ed ratio average party school like UW Milwaulkee would be able sufficient enough to let me get an assortment of Jobs that I might like?. Is it possible at all to have a job and go to public college?
How much are you guys making?
If you interviewed 100 of the top CEO's of Fortune 500 companies, I'm willing to bet it was NOT the letter's behind their name that got them the job....it was their attitude!!!

I have a client that started his own computer hardware company in his basement and slowly built it up until he sold it for $137 million....he has a BA in Business, that's it.

I used to work with a guy that had a PhD and I made more per hour than him because I had more experience.

Like I said before, having a 4 year degree gets your foot in the door in a lot of circumstances and is much more than getting an education.

hell, look at jason thorbeck from suicidedoors.com he literally sold what his sites name is. he ONLY sold ******* door hinge kits. i believe made in house. people saw the quality, wanted 4 links, made 4 links, people saw quality, manfuacturers wanted him to sell their products. his name IS minitruckin. you cannot have a conversation about buying a product without mentioning that company. period. hes got such good business now that he has receptionists take the calls and orders. if you have ever called them and said "can i talk to jason please" ..........he will STILL stop whatever he is doing and take a seat and shoot the shit with you for 20 minutes.

business ethics? bout the best they come IMO

after some 6 years in the community college system i am finally going to get into the university system next semester. it took so long because i didn't really know what i wanted to do, had jobs that took up alot of time and alot of distractions.

i finally settled into a business administration/finance major that i can pretty much apply to a bunch of different fields.

right off the bat i will proabbly not even use my degree. my friends and already started a mortgage company that has been going on for a while, i have my folks properties to look after, my dad's auto repair shop that i am part owner in, and on top of that my brother and i are thinking of buying a car stereo shop near by.

if all else fails i can get use my degree to get a job somewhere if the going gets tough.

remember one thing though, employers look for job experience and people skills more so than anything these days. if you are interested in a feild look to see if there are any internship programs. get in them and put it on your resume. the will count big time later on in the future.

happiness does not come from success, Success comes from happiness. Sit down and think hard about your true passion. Be honest with yourself and pick a college and go for it.
Print this out and hang it on your bathroom mirror so that you remember what you're supposed to do everyday!!!! It's really easy to get what you don't want out of life....so focus on what you want instead. Remember: the antidote for fear is education!!! Good luck with which ever route you decide. My recommendation is to get the hell out of Wisconnie!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

almost 21, still haven't got my associates yet, working full time as a security person, have a 2 year old (most likely) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
i am in the same situation, don't feel bad. I have well over 90 hours of credit to my name, and a class short of an associates (I believe), and I just dropped out of school again. I just landed a 30,000/year job to support myself and they will help with my schooling and certifications that I want to get.

i will be moving to orlando florida asap. i hate it where im at, but the schooling is better than florida. taking advantage of what i have and making the future better for me. i will have my own business shortly and will sell CA Equipment and hopefully can get straight from the manufacturers.

30,000 will get u buy in some places, but not nearly enough for a family imo.

I worked as a paramedic for a few years out of high school, then joined the Navy at 25. I went to a year long school (8.5 months of classroom and 3 months of clinicals) and it counted as about 3 1/2 years of college (rough estimate). I'm about 12 credit hours away from getting my Bachelors in Health Science...

I'm starting to see more and more companies that advertise employment in the 'ol newspaper, Sunday the best, about them training people. We will train is usually the 3 most important words to look for. Experience not neccessary is also another. Experience a plus means you'll get more $$. Typically 6 months++++ of so and so experience is another. Right now, the aerospace industry is booming, and is strong right now and will continue growth for I'd say another 4-5 yrs. After Boeing's orders are filled, time to sell that Vette you just bought that you and your newly met hot blonde you just met. The bad thing about manufacturing is layoffs. It's not a good industry to get into but jobs up here, depending upon position, pay from good to very well. I have been doing manufacturing/production since 97....just outta high school and been doin it ever since. 2000-2003 was very tough...as the "depression" hit, thanks to the 9-11 event.

i've always wanted to be an aerospace engineer, but thats way way way out of my league i feel. i dont know much about planes, and the huge *** motors that go with them lol. i just think its cool to see my box plans be built and put in someone elses car.........let alon e a plane i helped build flying people where they need to go.

I hear what you are saying. I had almost the same HS gpa and got like a 21 on my ACT. That doesn't necessarly predict college performance....I worked my *** off and partied my *** off when I needed to and still graduated with Distinction with a 3.7 gpa.
Agreed. College isn't for everyone, but if you're considering it then at least try it for a semester/quarter/trimester/whatever. I was pretty much the opposite, came from high school with straight A's and now in the whole 2.5 years I've been in college I've gotten 1 A, ever. People who got worse grades then me in high school are doing better than me now. I'd like to say my slipping grades were due to partying but they aren't sadly enough. So, you can do it if you really want to and are serious about it. Also, you need to do more than just study if you want to get anywhere. You need to make business relations, do volunteer work, intern, anything to build up your resume. Good luck, whatever you choose to do.

Graduating from UF this May and entering law school this fall...Let's pray I make it through in 3 years. Going to college has been the best experience of my life. it teaches you the basics from cooking, cleaning, budgeting/managing $, meeting girls, etc.
