What kind of education do you guys have?. Im 18 looking for opinions.

i graduated last year in architecture and i graduate this year in construction management and i just got a job designing fire sprinkler systems for a local company

Thanks for all your input guys. I dont know if I could handle doing homework on my own. I would be having to pay for it all on my own with loans so that would help but I just feel like i wouldnt make it. I would party too much. But how do these kids party and graduate. I was looking a a Public University UW- Milwaulkee or UW - Platteville for Electrical Engineering Bachelors but i dont know if i could do it. I have about a 3.0 GPA in High School now my senior year my GPA will be about 3.3. I got a 26 on my ACT test similar to SAT college entrance exam and only 14% of kids entering a 4 year college as a freshman did better than my 26 score. Not trying to brag just noting that i might be able to make it just wondering on some real life input on those who have done it. I have also been doing car stuff for a few years and have built probably 50 boxes and went through 100's of car audio components. As i have also built a carputer. I have 6700$ that i have earned in my Savings that my parents wont let me withdrawl from until i graduate. I dont know what to do. I was thinking about just trying tog et a good education at a Mobile av school but the industry could crash or i could grow out of it. But i dont know, i would think someone in the car av field for 15 years could have a pretty executive job. or shop. any other information this really helps alot thanks guys!

I have a friend that is doing his residency for gynecologist and he says you really have to have a stomach for it because you dont always get the hot girls

Graduated with my associates as an electronics technician, but ralized it wasnt for me. Now I moved from MN to AZ and am in school for audio engineering/production

My degree is in Environmental Chemistry from The University of Georgia with a professional Law degree from the same. Above all, choose something you love doing and let the money and jobs fall where they may. I heard a saying i totally agree with, happiness does not come from success, Success comes from happiness. Sit down and think hard about your true passion. Be honest with yourself and pick a college and go for it.

shit, i had a 2.4 in highschool, a 21 on ACT and im doing just fine in college. be it my core classes right now, but i love it.

I hear what you are saying. I had almost the same HS gpa and got like a 21 on my ACT. That doesn't necessarly predict college performance....I worked my *** off and partied my *** off when I needed to and still graduated with Distinction with a 3.7 gpa.

College is about WAY MORE than homework, tuition, and parting. Don't worry about it, just go and you will figure it out when you get there. You are a lot smarter than me coming out of HS...don't waste it working in car audio...unless it is your absolute passion. If so, think of college is a means to an end to fulfill your passion. 4 years will go by so **** fast you won't even know what hit you!!!

honestly dude, from everyone ive talked to that hires people for 40,000+ a year, its almost never about the amount of qualifications u have entirely, but the way you present yourself in the first 30 seconds. My farther hires and says he would hire a guy with 5 qualifications and a good presentation than a guy with 100 qualitifcations and a decent presentation. Theres always room for knolwedge to be gained, but it's a lot harder to lose cockyness. My dad says most people with pages and pages of qualifications come in with their chin cocked up about an inch too high.

Well Im very impressed with the helpful responses. I think I actually will go. I just have to get a little more serious. I already missed the application deadlines for this year so ill have to take a year off. I hope i dont get in trouble and then not qualify for student loans. Or get a G/F pregnanat or some b/s. But thanks guys i think ive just made a decision to go after staying up every night for the past year not knowing what to do.

Yeah my dad had to go to a marketing course thing on how to talk people into things and be a good communicator. The stuff was very interesting and im sure it works well. Im sure theres courses on getting jobs and learning how to present yourself well.

u can always do late registration.....

go and talk to them and tell them u didnt know if u were able to get in financially, or if you wanted to take on such a huge task, but after tlaking to friends and family for a few weeks, you decided its the best thing to do.

they SHOULD let u in if u talk to the right people............dean of admissions.

this may seem a little gay, but have u ever watched american idol this season? theres a guy that looks way out of his norm. grey hair, cant dance, no style it seems. have u seen him perform? if not, you need to. u can tell he absolutely loves what he is doing on that show. if u havent seen the show, listen to how the crowd reacts next time he performs. they love him. they love him because he loves to do what he does and that vibe that he puts out is put into the audience.

for example.....steve meade has the 4 18's right. cool. someone says "wut u got man?" if he answers "4 18's, i got everyone on lock" your gunna be like....what a douche. if you have ever actually had a convo with him and asked "hey man, what all do you have?" he will tell you everything he has down to what kind of RCA's hes running. which of two would u rather be around......the guy who just says what he has generically, or the guy that his face lights up cuz he gets to explain what went into his system, and what all it does.

i choose that one that loves what he does.
