What is your setup?

im interested in building my own setup, but i was wondering what other people are using and how they like it. my current budget is about $600 for the two front speakers and rear fills with an amp to power it. I'll be putting in into an integra 2dr coupe, any suggestions would be welcome.

Skip the rear fill, with good front comps and an amp they arent really needed. I love my Dls UP6's (around $300 from Tplaya07 on this forum) and any amp that does an honest 50w rms will make them sound awesome. Also, spend some money on deadening/sealing your doors to help midbass. Mine play so strongly down to 50hz with deadened doors I almost don't need a sub. A GREAT amp would be the same one I am using, an Xtant 403a- it gives you a sub channel too. You can score one refurbished from xtant for $200. http://www.xtant.com/direct/details.cfm?PN=403AR

Yes lose the rear fill and spend all that money on front components and a nice solid amp to power them.

unless you carry passengers i would suggest myself that you don't use a rear fill unless you absolutely have to. why lose the rear fill? well many car audio enthusiasts in a car try recreate a concert scene in their car. In a concert your sitting in the audience and the music is coming at you, which sounds better and louder. So this is the equivalent to running front speakers only. Depending on positioning of your speakers, the music is coming at you. But if you run a rear fill, your soundstage will move back and hence you are onstage now in a sense. Now the music is not coming at you and it doesn't sound as good.

ic... thanks.. that helped alot... but if i didnt have rear fills would the people in the back still be able to hear the music... i dont really care if its good for them.. but would they be able to atleast hear it.. LOL

i mean they can hear the music but it won't sound as good for them because they will mostly be hearing bass if you have a sub in your trunk.

It sounds pretty good from the back in my car atleast but its a pretty well balanced sound...

Avalanche 15" sub -- My component sets using the Dayton RS drivers... I have no desire for better... however when I get my next car I may as well put the new mids in them...

The xtant I recomended is awesome! does a true 75w rms x2 and 250 or so @ 2ohm in the sub channel.

Hey BikeJunkie,

does the 403 have the expandable ghost channels for up to five channels or three channels? That was a really nice option that xtant offered on those series of amps.

im nowhere near done but having close to the same musical tastes im currently running

I have "rear fill" but it can't really be heard from the front seats.

Running RE XXX mids, Kicker R19 tweets, and a Orion 4004 amp. Head Unit is a Eclipse 8445.

Looking to get a Orion 8004 for more head room.
