What is wrong with Employees?

It seems that many of them come to work to screw off and not to actually work.

We recently had to let some go because they were browsing the web, downloading music, and chatting online instead of working. They also managed to infest the company computer with spyware.

I know a lot of people post here when they are supposed to be doing work. Why do you do that? Do you view work as time you can screw around?

Why is it that some people try everything they can to not do work when they are at work?

Employers don't pay you to surf the web, post what you think about someone's subwoofer, or check your facebook/myspace page. Employers pay you to do work and make them money, so that they can pay you money.

This shit pisses me off...

At my job, im constantly bored because you can never get anything done within a reasonable time period in the Army. For example, it took us 1.2 years to roll out a internet filtering client built on a simple SQL database. I even told my boss that I surf ca.com to keep my sanity.

actually if gardening and moving heavy objects paid as well as sitting on my *** all day, id do it just for the exercise. But as ive found in my corporate years in the IT business, the more money you make the less you do.

Well I understand it if the boss specifically tells you it is ok...

But, we have a very specific clause in our employee contract that says exactly what the computers are to be used for and not to be used for.

And this isn't the first time this has happened either...

Are you commission or hourly based?

I understand if you are commission based.

But, hourly not so much.

Especially if there are A LOT of things that the person is supposed to be doing in that hourly time. (I'm not saying you do this, but this is what I have seen a lot of the time.)
