wrong. 3 inches is NOT the difference.yes 3 inches is the difference..
The diffence in air space moving differes if you are refering to a 12 vs 15 inch CIRCLE or SQUARE. In a circle... its an area of 63.6 inches squared. In a square it is 81 inches squared. So no 3 inches is NOT the difference. 63-81 inches is. Also, dont forget that 15s are more efficent, get lower, and sometimes handle more power (see my post above) or look below i have quoted it for you:
Why is everyone bs-ing? Everyone saying that the ONLY difference in a 15 and a 12 is cone area? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif Wrong.
Here is an example:
Compare the Kicker 12 inch L7 with the 15 inch.
15 inch :
1000 watts rms
Frequency response: 18 hz - 100 hz
12 inch:
750 watts rms
Frequency response: 20 - 100 hz
So...as far as Kicker L7s go 15 inch subs have more cone area, HANDLE MORE POWER, AND GET LOWER than the same model 12 inch sub. Cant argue with the facts.
Here are more examples:
Fi Fully loaded 15 vs 12---
The 15 inch is rated to get down to 34.5hz, while the 12 only goes as low as 37.8 hz efficently. Look it up if you dont believe me. So Fi 15s get LOWER and MOVE MORE AIR then Fi's 12s. Cant argue with the facts.
RE xxx 15 vs 12 ----
The 15 inch RE XXX gets down to 19.10 hz while the 12 inch can only go as low as 21 hz. Also, the 15 is MORE EFFICENT with a rating at 85.81 db compared to the 12's 83.76.
You cant argue with the facts girls, Its obvious: 15s Get LOWER than 12s, and are more efficent in doing it. They also MOVE MORE AIR, and in some cases they HANDLE MORE POWER. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
A little research goes a long way. Now all you people with 12s, 10s, 8s, etc...stop bsing. 15s DO get lower, move more air, are more efficent, and sometimes handle more power. The facts are the facts.
Now you can spew off any bs you want about "audible differences" and "practical purposes." But the facts dont lie. Anyway you look at it (other than taking up less space): 15 > 12/10/8. Period.
