What is the difference between 12" subs and 15" subs?

its bigger, you throw two 15's as opposed to two 12's and you have 6" more cone area.

more cone area = POTENTIALLY more bass.

its all about the application you choose and the execution and of course what amplifier will be driving them.

i would think 15"s would be deeper and make more soundpressure in the car.. and also would be heard coming down the road further
they are not deeper, i used to think that when i was a young buck but i was proven wrong by friends with 10's and 12's.

more like

3x3.14²x2 more cone area

stop repeating what has already been said.. unless your gonna add some new helpful input, the dude oviously already knows that, after 10 ppl said the same dam thing...

anyways, what i said in my last reply

i was going to buy an 18 so i could hunt geese without a gun. the vibrations knock them right out of the sky.

only 6"!?

i think you mean 110"^2 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

95"^2 = cone area for most 12s

150"^2 = cone area for most 15s

depending on the box. subs. and concidering we are using the same power, 2 15s will be louder than 3 12s

EDIT: scoobydoo beat me

your reply was a bunch of bs. shut up if you have no clue what you're saying.

Wrong!!!! You fail at math, two 15's would have about 127 inches^2 more cone area than two 12's

Area of a circle=Pi(r^2)=3.14(7.5^2)-3.14(6^2)=127.17 inches^2 more

Edit: I fail too, I forgot to take into acount the surround.

more like

(3.14 x 7.5² x 2) - (3.14 x 6² x 2) more cone area.
