what is the diff between a mono amp and reg amp?

i have always wondered what the difference between a mono amp and a regular amp with ohms or whatever, can someone please clear that up for me?

All amps deal with ohms, and there's no "regular" amp...mono amps have one channel, then there are two-channel amps, four-channel amps, etc. etc.
