what is good for SQ sub and amp?

For my buddy's sq sub+amp setup, I got him a Diyma R12 and a Soundstream Rubicon rub1000-2. The Rubicon was a good deal locally, so that's why I got it, otherwise I may have rather gone with a Reference 1000s instead. Paid $125 shipped for the Diyma, $175 for the Rubi, $35 for the box (1 cubic foot sealed), and $35 for a 4ga Knukonceptz wiring kit. I'll let you know how it turns out...stay tuned for a build log //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

SQ is all about the enclosure and the environment. Make those your top two priorities.

Some SQ subs -

IDQ, IA Flatlyne, Fi Q, Ultra Subs LV, JL W6, Hertz Hi-Energy or Mille

A JL 500/1 and 12W3 would sound pretty good for SQ.

Or a Hertz EP1D and HX300 - that would be my choice.

For some reason I don't trust ED.

Yeah the install is the most important, and make sure you invest in deadening. When you say SQ you kinda have to be a bit more specific as it means different things to different people especially here. some say a single 12 on 400 watts crossed at 80hz with a -18db slope will work well for SQ, and others want 2 12's or a 15 on 1000watts rms and ported real low(27-32hz) as SQ so it really depends on what your preference is really
