WHAT inline fuse size PLZ HELP

Wouldn't the biggest deciding factor be what his alternator can actually put out?
The point of a fuse is to protect the wire and thus the car itself in the event of a short. The output of the alt is totally irrelevant to the discussion, actually. 1/0 cable can carry more current safely than most any alt can output. The real danger isn't the output of the alt, but that of the battery. Even a smallish car battery can dump enough current into a short to melt 1/0 wire. That's why you fuse the wire next to the battery, it is there to cut the current before the point of the short.

Makes sense. I was thinking of the alt to batt connection on the BIG 3. I was told to fuse just over what my HO alt will put out...
