What I THOUGHT was a blown ID MAX

So I have been posting about my "blown sub" recently, after only just joining the forum. That was after hooking it up to my PPI Art 600.2, bridged @ 600 watts RMS. Now that I hooked it back up to my Alphasonik PMA4150, which only gives it something like 470 watts RMS @ 4ohms, on two of the four channels bridged, it POUNDS again, loud and clear. It was all static-y and distorted with the PPI. By process of elimination, does this make the problem my Art Series amp? Please say it isn't so. . .

What do ya think? I'm pretty happy my sub doesn't seem to be blown, even though I was looking at an SSA Icon D2.

P.S. - Do most multi-meters have a setting to measure wattage output?

Thanks for your time. . .

Multi-meters have a volts, and an amp setting...

Volts * Amps = watts.

But it won't tell you the RMS watts.

And, yes, your amp is screwed.

Turn the gains down, so that it only produces 100-150 watts, and plug in a mid-range and turn the filter off (LP, HP, etc.), plug in the RCAs from your speaker amp to your Sub amp, and see if the sound comes out bad. If not, it's not your amp.
