What HU can i do a 3 way active front stage with?

what external processor will do 4 way active
None that are cheap. Look into audio control...some of theres may do some.

However, I don't reccomend using amp filters to go active. I tried when I had my DDS4a and you could hear, quite distinctly, the difference between using that amp's filters vs. the HU.

X2 it was night and day going from my sundowns crossovers to my alpine 9887's. My front stage was much wider among other things

It seems like many of you are posting HUs with 3 way active completely. What you are asking for a is a 4way active, and the only two I know that do that is the Clarion DRZ and the Ural.
IMO, 2 way active front stage is complicated/fun enough. I strongly support the PRS880/800.

For little monies, look into a Clarion DXZ785USB //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
IIRC sonicelectronix has them for $130

That does not have a 3 way active front stage.

this is what i mean. mid-bass, mid-range, tweeter, and sub ran active
yeah

They all should be in the 200s. Older units though, but you may be able to get them off eBay or CL.

No.

Yup, Flip is correct. You need a HU with 4way active capability. Or and external processor.

nG
yeah.

multi-fials

For 4 way, you could do like me and get a 3 way HU, then have different amps for your mid bass and subwoofers to use the crossover networks together.. ie. Bandpass the mid bass with the HU's LPF and the amp's subsonic, then LPF on the sub amp.

With the audio controls on the Alpine PXA-H701 and the RUX-C701 Combo, you can run 4 way active. You'd still have to get a seperate CD player along with that as that's just a processor. It is pretty nice though; it's got a 31 band (L/R) graphic EQ, 7 band parametric EQ with 5 bands for the mids/highs and 2 dedicated to the subs, TA and a mic for auto TA, and it adds all the Alpine sound processors like MediaXpander. It's a little old so it may be hard to find the combo now. I take that back as Crutchfield has the PXA-H701 in stock for $199, but the RUX-C701 may be hard to find.

You can also just get a HU that's compatible with the H701. The OP can also look into buying only a 3way active HU, some nice 3 or 4" full range speakers, and some 8's in the doors. That's what I'm trying out since my HU only has 2 channels for T/A.
