Agreed, but I thought my "ear" was better than relying on Imprint...I used the parametric and messed around with it until I thought I had it set pretty good and to my liking. The I tried Imprint. HUGE difference, for the better with Imprint. I could not believe it.they are there. all the imprint kit does is offer you an auto-tuning feature for you system. it is not needed, the deck can do everything that the imprint can.
Unless you are going active, I am trying to get a 9887 and I think it will be well worth it.CDA-9887 is their top of the line...if you were looking at a 9886, you might as well go to the 9887. I have had mine for about 2 years now. Absolutely love it. I bought it for Imprint, and that feature alone makes it well worth it, as long as you know how to set the amps prior to running the software.
