What has rap music come to these days?

i could say alot because ive listened to rap for a long time and watched it morph. disgusted at what the world thinks is good music. og rap era 4L . there is some good stuff here and there that ill listen to but it doesnt come close to any tupac or too short or any older original rap that started all this. mac dre. the originals is what il always like the best. todays music is our era though so we have to have faith in some new rappers lol. theres alot of bullcrap out there like kanye west/autotone crap. autotone is for the chicks. its chick music. not for me. that is all. oh yea not to mention everyone and there brother wants to be a rapper. but all they will ever be are wannabes of the originals. like i said i have alot to say but i need to just stop while i can

I don't agree their is rap being made that is just as good as 90's rap, which was my favorite era. You just have to look harder. Corporate America has killed rap. Non Unity and technology as well has killed rap. Remember when artists would all be in the studio together doing an album? Like the Chronic. Now tracks are sent to artists they rap on them then send them to the other artist. They're rarely in the studio together. It's no mystery that the best Collabs are usually done when the artists are in close contact.

I can't take it either. All I do is look for underground rap. R&B is sounding pretty bad too. Most of the people can't even sing. The radio stations are the the biggest problem. Whatever they play, people will like no matter how wack it is.

on one of the tracks me and my boy workin on its like a diss to the current state of the hiphop genre

i say "this is real hip-hop no trl hip-pop"

and dont worry guys the real shit is coming back all the real lyrical dudes are tired of ringtone rap

But there's still some really legit stuff out there though:

Dude is decent but he lacks substance. I really don't care that every rapper has a chain, teef, and ****s my girl. That is played out. It is sad the gangster rap has progressed into a giant ignorant show and tell. It is so diluted you really don't know who will shoot you in your face or who will run anymore. IMO Music(any genre) should be a narration, not a self indulging montage.

i got Haystak's whole discography and mainly browse thru his stuff when in the car.. he is lyricist 1st and formost..

i also been on Bun B's II trill and The Game' LAX..

saddens my soul how Three 6 Mafia has sold out.. Project Pat is the only one stickin to his style..

Newer Lord Infamous, T-Rock and II Tone album Blood Money was decent.. i hate to say T-Rock was always the best onthe track, Lord was too much into his style to spit anything with substance and II Tone made me grimace evertime he attempted to spit

Older Color Changin Click and Swishahouse Freestly tracks were amazing.. Chamillionaire may be one of the best rappers out

Lol @ Haystak being a lyricist. WOW. Three Six Mafia Chapter 2 World Domination is on constant rotation. They ****ed up when they put it down to a two man group.

True, I just liked it because it actually has decent rhymes and flow etc. He does rap about the crap most mainstream bs does though, good point.
