What Happens When You Set A Low-Pass Amplifier Gain Up Too Much?

I know thats a very nooby question of me to ask, but Im just afraid my gain is too much (at halfway) bc my song skips and such and I dont know, Im just paranoid its the gain? Someone said its probably the cd skipping in the head unit, meaning the cd's shitty, or the head unit is vibrating too much. What do you think?

If its not the gain, then Ill be relieved.

cd's skipping have nothing to do with the amplifier.

Obviously your head unit is not secured tight enough i guess causin it to skip
