fixedits also possible that you could have hit a rock and ripped the pan, unless the motor shut right down it wasnt a connecting rod.

looks like it blew the pan from the inside out. bet its a rod

Most likely the rod cap. Piston probly froze in the bore, and the crank ripped it off and sent it thru the oil pan.

Ya, It happened to me before.

Racing a ricer on the hyway, All of a sudden, it felt like I ran over a pile of boulders, Looked in the rearview and saw the ricer get covered in what was left of my oil in the pan.

New engine was in order. I put 3 into that car. All Olds 350 rockets.

Its a rod but the oils been fine. Checked and topped it off last friday after I repleced a ujoint. There's been a slight leak but not even enough to leave a spot on the ground. Oh well.

you have the 4.0 correct? if so, think 4.6L STROKER!!! either build (creaper) or buy (easier). Direct drop in as well if bought...

Uhm, no... This is exactly why you shouldnt ask mechanical questions on a car audio forum. Sure theres people who actually know what they are talking about, but most of the time... uhm, no!

I always suggest that when somebody buys a new (or new to them) vehicle that they find an enthusiast for said model of car, usually you'll pretty decent advice.

On a side note, I dont ask car audio questions on any of the car related forums either, even if they have an audio sections.
