What gauge wires for 1000 watt amp powering 2 10'' subs?

Power:

It would depend on the lenth of the wire needed to be run. You could get away with 4 ga wire if its less than 10 feet. If its more than 10 feet I would go with 2 ga or 0 ga wire. (Im assuming your 1kw is RMS)

Speaker:

10/12 ga would work just fine.

4 guage will do, if you wana rune 0 then go for it while your in the process but i never use a wire less than 4 for ANY sub setup. But i do have 8 guage going to my car with just vocals, around 250 rms there.

Its an MD Sound 1000 watt amp. I wanna replace my crappy jensen 200watt amp so i thought thatd be a better way.

The amp:

2 CHANNEL

4 Ohm RMS: 75x2

2 Ohm RMS: 100x2

Mono RMS: 200

Max Power: 1000 Watts

you only need 8 gauge for that...
but I wouldn't run anything lower than 4 since it's like 20 bucks more.
Alright thats good to know, thanks!

the gauge is the size of the wire...the smaller the gauge the bigger the wire and vise versa.
So if its just smaller or bigger...what difference would 10 gauge make rather than 8 gauge?
