Mounting an amp in truck toolbox

I did it in an S10 for SPL runs

Yeah, in a buddy's little SPL build in a Tacoma. Just be sure to isolate it off the metal and keep it away from being weathered

What is the downside to mounting it there? I am trying to decide if that would be a decent place or not to mount for a long term installation.

Down side....um do you use your tool box? If so loss of space and you would want to more carefull with putting things in there. Other then that, I had no issues. I used a plastic tool box with some extra weather stripping on the lid. I never kept mine in the tool box for more then a few days though.(never had an issue though)

Yeah, it would be a problem if the toolbox was heavily used. Heat could also be a problem. It's funny, I've never even thought about putting one there until someone mentioned it during a discussion over a few cold ones.
