What gage wire do I need for a system with 1600 watts RMS

I ordered a amp kit from onlinecarstereo that was 3000 watts. It was out of stock but they gave me a kicker set instead. They said it would be good enough. But when I received the package it says it is only rated for up to 1000 watts RMS. I have a hifonics 1600 RMS mono amp. Is this 4 gage kicker wire good enough or do I need 1/0 gage? You need 0 gauge.

I'd def use 1/0

I'd say 4 is good for 1500w or so... and thats pushin it.

the kicker wire will be fine,, But you may want to upgrade to 0 wire in the future.. But I think the kicker wire will be fine..

Thanks for the replies, I'll change to 1/0 just to be safe. Does anyone know how to post pics. I'm starting my build tomorrow. A in dash dvd player, head rest monitors, factory bose system with two 10in pioneers, hifonics 1600 mono amp and i'm building a fiberglass box
