What fuse should I run? (Newbie)

If it is rated at 50A max, then fuse the line at 50A. The wire won't melt (assuming it is a reasonable run), and the amplifier will hardly ever draw that much current. Even if it does, it will likely not be long enough to open the fuse.

I'm saying, no matter what the fuse style is, if the fuse is rated at 50 amps, shouldn't the fuse blow at or slightly after 50 amps?
Depends on the style of the fuse. Some open instantly, some allow for a tolerance.
