Your stereo will have the ability to pull more current than your stock alt can output. So anyoone who says you will or will not be fine with your stock alt is just guessing. None of them really know how loud you will listen to it. Or how often. Or if you will rechanrge the batts overnight, or run the engine with the stereo off often, etc, etc, etc.

Did some research for alt for my truck on the diesel forums This guy seems to be the way to go for diesel alts.

even better just got an email back from mechman. He has a 250amp alt that does over 150 at idle and full power at 1200. I will be looking at that instead of the db alt.
