I just got my solo x 12 (Im sponsered by this local shop)

And we called up kicker and talked to them about what size box and tuneing to use for my durango...

oddly enough... they said 2.5 cubes (after port) tuned to 48... and play a 53hz tone....

Anyways... we build the box... and this thing ****IN WANGED... sounded awesome....

The guy told me to be gentel with it and break it in...

I went home and put on the radio... on a LOW LOW volume... I come back about 30-60 mins later...

And the sub sounds like its sorta "flapping"... as if the cone of the sub is about to come of...

I know when I go to the shop in the morning they will fix it with no problem and explain to me what happened... but I was wondering if I could find out now...

Any ideas?

Air seems colder with a breeze....
implying that..your sub was moving? or that u have a leak.......neither of which make sense except that the "slapping" sound would be the air leak..but that wouldn't be coming out the port. this is unless i'm missing something

THERE is no air leak...

I guess the best way to describe my problem...

The sub sounds LIKE the cone and the motor are sorta disonnected... BUT not...

The sub still works... and sounds LOUD.. but doesnt get low AT ALL... and sounds like its SLAPPING against the cone...

the sub is slapping against the cone...........

anyway, is it bottoming out? i'm sure u'd know better than i as you're sponsored, but apparently any guess is as good as none

It sounds like its CONSTINTLY bottoming out...

being that the sub is put together when you "build the box" I wonder if the sub wasnt screwed together thgiht enough... or to tight... hmmm
