Picked up a pair of Polk db104s from Best Buy last weekend. Here is a drawing (sorry, no 3d) of the the box I am intending to build for a 2002 4runner. Box will lay flat in the rear between the fender wells, subs pointed up and ports firning to rear. These will be powered with a BA GT1105 amp.
I used the Polk recommended volume and vent specs for a ported enclosure. They list an Fb = 41.18Hz and an F3 = 34.26 Hz . I assume that is box frequency and system resonant frequency. The amp will sit just behind the rear sets and be accessible by folding seat back down.
Should I have a vent for the amp compartment? Do I need to add a fan for cooling?
Any other comments? This is my first build.
I posted in the subwoofer forum first, but no one commented. This seems like the more appropriate place.
