what do you think... box direction?

Okay, I have a new nissan pathfinder and i have a dual 12" slot ported box. (pretty standard rectangular no customization, looks prefab but it isn't) I was wondering, does it make a difference whether i have them pointing upwards (facing the ceiling... box placement right behind the back seats in the suv) or pointing to the rear liftgate? Will some bass (although nondirectional) get lost or become muddy one way more than the other? any input would be great...

the slot port is directly in between the two 12's...

the system is described in my signature...

IMHO the back gate is more rigid than the roof and tends to reflect a more full forceful wave than the roof (which tends to flex a bit) but it is all a matter of personal preference and vehicle. Try both and see which one sounds best to you...

SUVs and Hatchbacks are good at SPL setups, so just facing away from the front of the vechical is good. Is it better? I do not know, but i'm pretty sure either way would work.

Like nweibley said, experiement
