What do you think about 13w7's?

a lot of people would consider the 13w7 to be the stantard in SQL woofers. whenever a great SQL driver comes out it is almost always compared to the dub 7... not saying that nothing is better.. but its definately up there on the list. problem is its also up there in price.

The 13W7 is the top SQL driver... only the XXX can match its xmax figure of 32mm... although the XXX is still beat because the 13W7 was dumaxed at 34mm... its the best of the best regardless of price. Yes and no.

Sonic accuracy is one thing, personal perference is another. You may like the sound of something, but that doesn't mean it's truly accurate to the original source material, which is what TRUE sound quality is. People confuse the two; but they are really two totally different things. What you prefer does not necessarily have the best "sound quality" or the most accuracy simply because you prefer it. The goal of sound quality is to reproduce the original source material exactly how it was recorded. If the subwoofer does not do that, then it will inherently have poor sound quality regardless of whether you "prefer" it or not. Likewise, you can NOT prefer the sound of something; but that doesn't mean that it doesn't truly have the best sound quality, even though you didn't prefer it.

Now, that said....it's really hard to pick a "best" as it comes down to implimentation and use. Installed poorly, you can make anything sound bad, preference wise or true sound quality wise.
