Hey everyone. I have been in the market for some new speakers as I have been wanting some new speakers as I blew one of my Crescendos. I didn't really want to get another one, but I guess I can if need be. What kind of speakers do you guys use or recommend for a decent cost? Probably 40 dollars at the most per speaker. I might try to run an 8 inch and just make some rings if the cost is right. Suggestions?

You could try the soundqubed pro audios or get the component set but I don't have personal experience with those I think just going with another crescendo would be best unless you really wanted something else

I got crescendo pwx 10s.. I like them so far. Bout to put them on some real power soon.

I had the SQ PA 6.5 mids and they were decent for the money

I am using one of these in each door with about 40rms to each. They are in deadened doors, using the active x-over on my AVH-3700BHS and actually sound pretty **** good. I have them paired with ID XS-28s.

I was running the CX62s but I have a bad water issue in my doors and water got into the voice coils and did damage to the cones. I put the x65s in the doors for 2 days while I was waiting for those Daytons to come in and could already see damage on the cone. Due to the material the cone on the Daytons is made out of, they resist my water issue pretty well.

I am waiting until I have to get a new car before I run those x65s.

I think you need 4 ohm drivers man. PPI can clip at 8 ohms pretty easy if you desire more output than the actual amp power at 8+ ohms allows you. Say fk it and get some PWX 10s or 8s IN 4 OHM VERSION this time and you should be pretty set.

I've been thinking of doing some 8s. Just trying to find some drivers that have excellent 8s, 6.5, and tweeters for later on if I do my doors

use a dmm to set your levels.... clipping shouldn't be an issue, unless you have a power issue. in your price range, the hk i mentioned take advantage of the topology to run at a nominal 4ohms, but are essentially 2ohm speakers..... they also oversize the cones and surrounds to the limits, so 6.5's are actually closer to 8's..... i know they aren't the hipster mids, but they sound great and preform flawless in your requirements. otherwise, i would find some older eclipse or mbquarts, personally. a lot of that hipster driver stuff just sounds harsh to me. too much emphasis on the technology put in, and not enough on what it sounds like blindfolded.

Actually ended up getting two McLaren Neo 6.5 8 ohms for a pretty good deal. So hopefully that will work out well. I already have tweeters so i'd only need the 8s for my doors.
