What do you know about remote start kits?

My daughter just replaced her high school car (02 Accord) with a '15 Corolla. It's really nice. About the only option it doesn't have that she wants is remote start. I don't know dick about them.
I found a youtube how-to -- I'm sure I can figure out the installation. I just want to know what's decent and what's junk (what makes them decent or junk?). Looks like there are kits for <$200 and over $300. What do I need to look for/avoid?
