More heatsinks? Higher standard? Where are you getting this, DD marketing?
The Brazilian amps are far smaller, plenty of other amps are under-rated, (Rd D9, MA 4000 come to mind). Almost all unregulated power supply amps do more power at higher voltage.

If we are to believe your "11KW" continuous power, assuming your DD amp is 100% efficient (from all the extra heat sinks) and your voltage doesn't drop at all, you would still need to draw 785A. If your claim is true I'm more impressed with whatever battery you are using.

DD sells some good stuff but you're not going to catch me jerking off over it like it's the end-all of car audio.

I have 3 amps. 2 m3as at .5 ohms each and a s4b. Add it up and it's around 11.

Who makes that alternator.. that who I need to call up. DD is OK, I think some of the things I liked about them are being done by other people so the love is leaving them. I would love to have some 9500s one day but I would be just as happy with BTLs, XLs, or DPs. I would take a 9500 over a MOJO or HCCA if that helps

Um, no. DD is widely known for very high mark up's. No one is saying the product is bad, the price justification is the issue.

And, yea, I concur. I overpaid hardcore for a DD 1515D4 ($255). My Kenwood shallow mounts pwned the DD on the lows by miles. And, then the DD smokes off 800 watts (same amp settings where I powered a SE/x 15, and 2 shallow Kenwoods), so I sold the blown sub back to my DD dealer for $50. I basically set fire to $205. Good job DD.
