I was over on a Monte Carlo forum where someone was asking about light dimming.
He was given this response
"Bigger batteries won't do you any good with dimming. Batteries are for reserve capacity only. A cap really won't help you either; they simply don't store enough energy.
Spinning the alternator faster or buying a HO alt. are real solutions to light dimming/over drawing the charging system. Search on an audio forum for the "big 3" and upgrade that. It's essentially upgrading the alt to battery wire, the battery to chassis ground wire, and the chassis to engine ground wire. It reduces resistance in those areas which can free up some more current for your system."
I tried to explain that a better or 2nd battery will help, but this guy refuses to listen. Post up what you think, and I will link him this thread.
