I stripped the carpet off the bottom part of the door panel where the light and pocket are, then I cut out a circle on the pocket(bulged out part), placed the speaker ring on it, with a spacer(piece of 1/2'' mdf), then put fleece around the whole thing, the backing is 1/4'' mdf to support it.I have a question; what'd you use to make that buldge that wasn't originally there? Like, how'd you support the fiberglass in that position or whatever?I hope you understand what I mean. If not I'll feel like a fool.

Near the light I built it up with more fiberglass clothe and about 1/4'' of evercoat zgrip.
I picked up a spare set of 2 door panels on ebay too incase I messed up being a noob at this.
Yeah I didnt realize that until I was halfway through, I want to get rid of the carpet where the door handle is. The vinyl dye matches almost exactly with the door though.looks good.
now you gotta do something with the rest of the door.
having new looking areas and old looking area dont always mesh well.
but when you vynil the rest of it, it will be the buttsekhs, which is a good thing.

I'd love to have 8's there but there isnt really anywhere else besides the door for front stage. I was at one time considering putting image dynamic 8's in the doors, then mounting waveguides under the dash. Bit over kill though.very nice work indeed. Clean up the rest of the panels and finish them to match and you'll be golden.
Next step, 8's in the doors
