What do you guys think about feeding a dc lvl4 xl 2200 rms w/ aq2200?

ALSO... i haven;t decided to get this AQ2200 or i can also get a SOUNDSTREAM 3400DTR... both amps are rated 2200 rms @ 1ohm but the soundstream is rated 3400 rms @ .5 ohms..... i can get the AQ for $300 and the SOUNDSTREAM for $325

what do you guys think?

What will your enclosure setup be?
(was in a prev. post)

ok my setup is -

*optima red top cranking battery

*kinteik 800 - ( a little small for this application)

*1/0 single run all the way from cranking batt to amps

i have not completed big three but did run 1/0 to ground out cranking battery

*audiocontrol lc8i

*AQ2200

*DC LVL 4 XL

*2.6 cubes ported enclosure 32hz

*JL A4300 80 X 4 @ 4ohms

*hifonics zeus components

IMO stick with the AQ. SS use to be good but I am unsure of what kinda quality they now push out the door. No matter what amp you go with a 2400 is the min I would buy. Actually I wouldn't but a 2400 anyways when I can get a deka9a31 for 1/3rd the price and its just as good as a 2400.

1. Your gonna want at least 1 group 31 style battery in the back.

2. sub will take that amp no problem but I feel your box is to big for a single 12. I'd like to see it aroung 1.5-1.75 cu after displacements.

i got the specs for the box directly from the guys over @ DC soundlabs.. i believe the box is the above mentioned 2.6ish cubes BEFORE sub displacement. how would i add the dimensions of my sub into the equation to get the internal volume AFTER sub displacement?

I think the box seems to be just about right my box is 2.8cf after all displacement and going full tilt I have yet to reach its mech limits. Of course its two different subs but nonetheless. Hell my box for my dd2510 was 1.8cf after displacement. Not that it matters just throwing that out there.

OP Deduct .2 from internal volume to get overall displacement.

I'm not sure who you talked to but I know for sure Rusty recommends 1.5-1.75 cu per 12in driver. I personally run my pr of 12's in 3.125 cu before displacement.

DC subs inherently like smaller boxes.

Off topic but my lvl 5 10's thrived in .8-1cu. Its hard to compare apples to oranges.

lol rusty is who i got my specs from. i'll let you guys do the math

MY BOX IS

24 X 19 X 14

PORT

28 X 1.75 X 12
