What you look for when you open an amp to check the guts?

Burn marks? Fallen over \ leaning components?

I am trying to figure out my issue here. Seems as if my power output is half now. I've checked all wired really snipped ends checked sub wiring. Checked ohm rating on subs. Checked voltage on head jnit. Replaced rcas. Etc. I'm thjnk ING the amp itself is done. My subs don't get loud till I'm like 80% volume and have to adjust the sub level on head unit to -10 when it goes from +6 to -24 + being more power . And when I turn that up it still does not even get low compared to where I used to have it. Around -16 to -20 sub level.

If you're attenuating the subwoofer level on the head unit, which by the negative number seems to be the case, that's why you have to crank the volume to 80% to get loud bass. Your amplifier gain is probably also set far to the right to match the input level. There is nothing wrong with turning the sub level up on the head unit if you need the bass to be louder, as long as it's not clipping a lot.

Ni. My gain is halfway maybe not even or just a tad over half. And the s u b level on the Hu gets louder as the negative number goes towards a positive number. New subs almost a month old now they don't slam nearly as they did few weeks ago. I used to be content with listening with the Hu sub level at -16 which was pretty Damm loud bass would get crazy loud when I adjusted it to -12 and lower upon going into the positive number on sub level. Not it's at -10 and not even hitting hard at all until my head unit volume is almost 80+% volume.

I haven't changed a single setting except for the sub level. I've checked all ground wired sub ohm imp. All seems pretty concrete. My head unit is about 7 years old tho? Maybe more

What sub, what box, what amp?

Check the seams on your box and seal around the subs. I would also look at your power and ground. Fuse could be burnt/corroded. Make sure ground is sanded well and solid
