What do i need to plug into a wall socket?
600a is massive. I know the big testers like @sundownz have some big beefy converters... I think it was him talking about them in the pass. Most computer power supplies can get you anywhere from 20-80a though which is still pretty **** good. What do you need 600a for?

That's 400w. Which is 40a. And you're thinking of an inverter I think. Designed to plug into your cigarette outlet, so you can plug 120v devices into it? He wants the opposite.
Doesnt some one make those power supplies? I want one so I can run a small amp my new place...

No, it didnt have a 12volt plug for t he Cig lighter. Too much amperage to pull through that. I was simply stating to check out Harbor Freight. They have larger ones. I know my 400w power inverter wasnt going to be big enough for you. Mine is hooked up to my distrobution block directly to my battery

What the hell is your microwave doing drawing that type of power?
I never said I was running a microwave. I was asking why he needed 600amps of draw. A regular microwave pulls 1100 amps +. Thats why I was asking what on earth he needed a power inverter for 600amps for

I think so... I remember this discussion from like a few months back' date=' someone was trying to do the same thing. For your case Payton, just get a good pc power supply. Should run any small amp no problem.

^ perfect example of a $1200 50a converter. Should give a good example of the size and cash required for a 600a converter.

Uhh.. no. 1100 WATTS. That's about 10 amps from the AC outlet.

Wondering if that's the same mistake the OP is making... 600 watts is a whole lot different than 600 amps (8000-ish watts) on 12 volts.

well, u would need a 480 volt wall socket for that kind of draw continuous....might need to give a call to the power company and have do some upgrades...I have ran CNC Machines that have massive AC /DC converters inside for the 48volt 80- 100 Hp DC spindle motors that kind of draw ...400 to 600 Amps.

I'm sure I could find some one that has one... Do you know what all you have to do to them?
