i installed a system in my boys tiburon. im having problems with the sub, but thats a different story. anyways, when i was running the power wire, i tried drilling through the firewall in like 4 different spots. i couldnt get through. i tried different bits and put all my weight into it and i barely made a knick in the metal. so i decided to run underneath the car. i bought some flex conduit and ran it along the frame. then from there i went up into the rear wheel well and into the hatch. well the conduit was getting close to the tire, but i managed to get it to a point where it was a decent distance away, then i secured it at the frame and hatch so it wouldnt move. well the next day it was rubbing against the tire. it doesnt appear the the conduit moved out of position, it seems it just started to hang a little from gravity or something. my question is, how can i fasten the conduit in the wheel well to keep it from touching the tire? i have it zip tied under the car, but theres nuthing to zip tie to in the wheel well. im also trying to not make the conduit visible. i originally set it in the rear of the well so that when the wheel is on the ground, the majority of the conduit is hidden by the tire. any ideas?

my suggestion would be to try and find a existing holes throught the firewall and if that doesnt work try and find a better bit to drill with

I'm doing the same thing (kinda) to my car right now... 1/0 in flex conduit under the car back to the rear seat area-ish... then I cut a 1" hole and put in a seal tite connector..... worked really well... I went in under the seat because I didn't want any future problems with the suspension/rear end parts.

As far as what you cant do... get some of the little secure clamps for the counduit that you bought... it's just a curved peice that goes around it and then you can screw it in where ever the eff you want... if you really need me to I can get you a picture of one. we have about 50 on the back of my work truck.

Sure if that's what you want to call them.
that is what they are called, if we are thinking of the same thing. they make one that looks like a clamp with two screws, one that looks like a U with a nail on either side for wood, and other ones that look kind of like the U with two metal screws for securing to metal obviously.

Oh... were actually talking about two different things... but they do the same ****ing job.... (I wasn't trying to be a dick earlier... probably came off that way though...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif )
