3" port across the whole bottom (37")



or a 5" port thats 19" in the middle of the box.

He's asking if there is any different between a port that is incredibly wide, but not very tall, versus a port that is much more squared

with out knowing any more information other then the one you have provided. the most efficient port is the more squarish port. the best port is a port that stays with in a 1 to 1 ratio of width to height or round. since it provides the lest amount of surface resistance area within the port.

1:1 is best, 8:1 is acceptable. Any farther than that and the wall resistance messes up the tuning.

What are you tuning to and do you have any idea how long that port will be?

thanks guys, i just didnt know if the 5" port in the middle would cause air flow issues.
