what could be the problem!!!

ok the ups man delivered my new factory reconditioned kicker kx350.4's yesterday so i get some rest and first thing this morning i open the boxes to install in my Chevy. i plug them all up to my existing connections turn on the deck and both amps immediantly go into protect. what could be wrong? i only had them powered up with no speaker leads so someone anyone HELP!!!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fro.gif.c695f1f814b01c4ad99fe7f8cccadd29.gif

its the same ground ive been using and i also tried a different ground
