What causes a sub to lock up?

i qouold bet the e is holding it. at one time i had 4 type e's with an mtx t81000d(1500rms) powering each pair. so i was dropping 750 a piece into them and they would hold for awhile. but i'll tell ya after awhile they would die a horrible death. i would throw them so for that the voicecoil would be extended past the spider and the surround would be peeling off the cone. i'll have to look i know i have pic's somewhere

If the coil is completely burned or separated then it'll lock up. If the coil isn't burnt...chances are...the coil hit the back plate and perhaps bent and locked up. there are lots of possibilities. Open it up and shoot the coil with the wall socket.

I'm leaning towards the chuck norris thing. Just have him stare at the subs and they will catch on fire and blow up.

Just remember... don't look into Chuck's eyes or you could blow up also.
