Infinity perfects, Standard Vs. VQ

Has anyone had any experience with both woofers? I have a perfect 12.1D, and it is pretty good. I have a chance to get a good deal on a VQ, and i am wondering if it is much different. It appears to have a different driver, Variable Q, different cone material(aluminium in perfect vs. magnesium matrix in VQ), and a higher power handling and xmax.

I am trying to decide between the VQ or a flatcone O that i also have the opportunity to buy. Any help is great! Thanks,

I have not heard either, but did a lot research on the VQ, and I believe it is much better than the regular Perfect....I would ONLY get the VQ if I was going with Infinity for subs...I am sure they sound great.

VQ holds better power and actually sounds different. IE..... louder, lower, ect. they are both great subs either way, i had the perfect 12.1d and i fried 5 of them off 600 watts so i would go with the 12DVQ

I believe the VQ can be run IB if you are into those sort of things

Definately go with the vq series. I have 1 10 and i love it. The VQ series make the rest of the infinity line look like a joke. I would tell anyone looking at infinity subs to go the VQ series before any of there other line.

It is wierd, because the way infinity markets them seems to be just the VQ as the only extra feature. It appears by the opinions that they are like two completely different subs!

Wow!!! I got my vq 12 today and it is amazing. Louder, deeper, and cleaner than the standard perfect. Thanks for steering me in the right direction. So is this considered to be one of the best SQ woofers out there? I have seen many people rank it in their top few. thanks!
