what box should i use?

i have 4 swiss audio spl series 1290's. they are 4 ohm dvc. I'm running 2 memphis mc1000d amps. I have 2 subs per amp and i wired them so i'm pushing a 1ohm load from each amp(1100w rms each). Now i have all this in my trunk of my 81 cutlass supreme and they are in a vented box in which each sub is sealed from the others. the box came from the stereo shop but i dont think my subs are performing as well as they should, the box doesnt have the typical round ports with the plastic molded cones in them , they just have the vents designed into the box. any suggestions?

If they designed everything right, then those slot ports are just as good as anything else.
