What batteries can support 1000w?

What you're describing definitely sounds like a struggling alt.

If your alt isn't up to the task - whether you have a $500 save-the-world type battery or a $50 Autozone battery - it's gonna go dead eventually.

Isn't a cavalier alt one you get to from the passenger wheel well?

Agreed ^^^^

Your alt is either deaded or is not keeping up. It is not the wire. Buying a batt for the back is a good idea overall, but it will only be a baindaid if you have a bad alt.

STEP 1) Test alt and replace if bad

STEP 2) Buy 2nd batt for trunk, or at least a better front batt

Or you can save the $250 for a good alt if that is what your issue is. to me, it sounds like you are having the typical issues of drop from 14v to 12v. and adding a batt that sustains a little over 12v will not solve the issue.
If it was me, I would get a cheaper battery(new to alleviate any added resistance due to age) and save the money for an alt. When you upgrade to something more than 1000wrms, then spend gobs of money on batteries:D
I've tested the batt when starting and letting it idle for about 20 minutes, it keeps a steady 14.4-14.7v. Never tested it after full tilt or anything, between work and being quiet because of neighbors, I still don't know, but it does sound like a decent voltage drop problem though, and I guess I'll look for a new alt.

Yeah I'm going to take it to the dealer to get it's oil changed and whatnot while it's still on warranty, and have them check it. It's not really in the wheel well, it's infront of the passenger side, but close to the ground, and tucked in by the crankcase.

Will do, I can't have my car running like this anymore //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Get both your battery and alt tested. Either one could be the problem. Autozone tests both for free.
I'm sure it's the alt now, it's an 04, but the original batt got run to 10.0v on my old RF amp, but it still played. I changed the batt up front and all seemed ok, but I guess the alt is what's screwing it up.

Thank you guys for helping!!

If you drain a normal battery to 10V you've done permanent damage.
I know, I found out soon afterwards there was no going back for the ac delco p.o.s. battery lol. I think I'm gonna pick up an SPV44, I can get it for the same price as an HC800 shipped here. Later on down the line I'll pick up another or re-do the batteries all together.

BTW is there a wiring diagram to show how to hook up an extra battery? I think I know how to already, but I seen one diagram that I can't find, and it was wired pretty strangely. Any help guys?

yea id do a batcap 800 too
I won't NEED an extra batt now, already my daily driving has been cut due to being a pizza dude now lol. I don't bump while at work, too distracting and wears out my electrical worse than it already has been. Plus theres many bad neighborhoods around, don't wanna get robbed. Anyway I let my batt charge alll day then on my way home I give her hell for about 15 minutes. So I think the SPV44 should be able to handle not-so-daily-driving then right?
