I've been looking for a HO alt for my 05 civic si for a month now, and this seems like a great price. I think 165 will be enough seeing as i only have 80 A right now. I emailed the guy to ask about warranty, how it performs at idle, if its meant to be used for car audio... What do you guys think? Seems a lot better than $400.

That looks like a reman stock replacment to me.

165 Amps. Will this be fine for a smallish system or should I just get one made "for" car audio. What I'm trying to say is are there differences in alternators besides the number of amps? If 165 Amps is 165 Amps, then its double my current alt output of 80A.

A HO 165A alt would be sufficient for a VERY powerful sound system, but where in that item description does it say 165A?

It says right in that add that it is a stock replacement, not h/o. You'll be hard pressed to find any h/o alt for less than $200.

After I sent him the message he took "165A" out of the small line that says it was upgraded. I guess I called him out

Get what you pay for...

Call these guys and see what kind of price they can work out, I run 4 of there Alts and are by far the best I have ever run.
