Hope this is the right section.

I am currently running four Alpine Type R speakers and two 12 inch Infinity subs with a Kenwood Excelon Deck.

I had a 5 channel Craig Powerplay 500W amplifier running, but recently the remote wire terminal on the amp stopped working. I did some troubleshooting by switching my amp out with my friend's amp and his worked instantly so I know the wiring is fine and the amp must be fried or something. I even tried opening it up but couldn't find anything loose or wrong inside.

Anyways, what amp should I get to run this system? I've been learning as I've been building the system so I don't know everything about car audio and now I want to get some opinions and advice before I buy another amp.

I'll suggest a JP8 amplifier. I believe you can wire your sub to 2 ohm. It's Dual voice coil 4 ohm, correct? JP8 @ 2 ohm does 900 watts.
