What amp for a Sundown SA-12 D2?

That is where the gain setting comes into play... By setting your gain correctly you wont be getting 1500 rms... Even if you did crank the gain after box rise' date=' voltage drop, and efficiency you wouldnt be getting 1500 anyway...[/quote']
I figure I'll have to get somebody to tune my amp when I get it all going. YAY LOVE GETTING RIPPED OFF BY PEOPLE AT SHOPS. I feel like they don't really know what they're doing for being "professionals" but I sure as hell don't either.

Dont they will just say ehhh close enough and be done... its really not that hard man just takes a little time to understand but keep reading around and youll get it...

If you could point me somewhere to learn about gain it would help. I can't ever seem to find any helpful stickies or anything for car audio like I do my other hobbies.

Search gain... There has been many threads about it over the years... You will need a DDM and to do a little math...

Do you mean DMM instead of DDM? If you do in fact mean DDM I don't know what that stands for.

An SAX1200 would be and awesome match for that sub. you can find them used in high side of your price range.

Look at the Diagram up top again. Run the sub at 4 ohms. Another suggestion for you if you didn't want that much power and stiill wanted to run at 1 ohm would be this

Just buy a solid 1K amplifier that Onyx is fine and won't be pushing a true 1500rms anyways. He was referring to a DMM but i can tell already you have no idea how to set gains with a DMM or tune for that matter. Personally just get a 1k set it by hear and hope you dont blow the **** subwoofer cause you don't a clue.

Thanks for the help, man. Really good advice. I definitely don't a clue. Wouldn't want to help people on forums, just be an *******. That's the way to do things online.
