What amp for .75 ohm W7

Im not looking to spend a rediculous amount on a JL 1000/1 or a xenon. Does a kicker kx1200.1 run at .75 ohm or what about the orion 1200.1. Right now i have teh jbl gto 1201.1 but that wont do it i dont think. It has to power a 13w7

Just look for an amp that makes it's power at 2ohm and wire the coils in series rather than parallel.

well 1.5 and 1.5 would be 3 ohm and its hard to get an amp that puts out 1200 watts at 3 ohm. I was looking at the tantrums but i cant seem to find real power ratings on it and they seem to be a bit on the expensive side. Thats why i was wondering if an orion 1200 could handel it and if i had to im pretty sure a kx1200.1 can handel it

what's so hard about 1200 watts rms at 2-4 ohms? all the birthsheets i have seen has it rated at over 1400 watts rms. mine was benched at 1494 watts rms @ 4 ohms. used they go for under $300.

Its going to be a lot harder to find an amp that is stable at .75 ohmns nominal making the power you want than finding an amp that is stable at 3-4 ohmns nominal. Find something for that 3 ohmn load.

True.........but after impedance rise, Id figure that an amp thats stable at 1 ohm would be okay at .75.

or find something thats like 1500 watts rms at 2 ohms. possibly an older rockford 1501BD or an mtx 1501D.

like i said before i think an orion would run at that. a lot of people run 2500D's at 0.5 ohms daily, so i think it'll handle it.

Thats not rediculous if you ask me. Comes with the warranty from audio savings if anything goes wrong.

and yes i did have an opti but i traded it for the GTO 1201.1 and some cash.

Maybe, maybe not, but are you willing to risk the life of your investment and a major headache if the amp fails?

Get an Orion 1200D they can do .5 ohm daily no probs and unless you have a perfect box you will have impedance rise.
