What amp for 12" kickers?

I have 2 12" Kicker CVR's in my car, right now they're powered by a 1000.2 crunch amp.

The subs are wired parallel at 2 ohms.

I've heard that the crunch amps are garbage, and that explains why it was so cheap.

Would upgrading my amp make my system sound louder? clearer? last longer? what are the benefits?

what amp would you upgrade to and why?

Depends how many watts it truly puts out. If your getting 600 rms from it then you won't get louder, your subs are 300 rms each right? As far as a cleaner sound that's somewhat debatable on a sub amp. In theory yes a more quality amp will sound better

They take 400w per sub RMS, but the box is ported so I guess you're supposed to cut it in half?

200w per sub would be 400w at 2ohms.

It says the amp puts out 500x2 bridged at 2ohms or 250x2 (not bridged) at 2ohms.

I had it professionally installed so i have no idea if it's bridged or not? How can I tell?
