What amp do I need?

I'm planning on getting

Soundstream T612 12 Inch Tarantula Woofer

What amp would you guys recommend? I was initially thinking 1800watt but now I'm thinking 1600 watt because I'm not exactly trying to push maximum wattage to the speakers ( I want them to last a long time) and I believe that 1600 watts will bump the living **** out of my honda while keeping the 12's at a reasonable power range for maximum lifespan..

Please, Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated...

man for 155 I would go two lanzar opti1232s for 317 shipped on ebay running on a opti2000d wired to half ohm total comes to 517 just my opinion

What's your electrical? Have you done the big 3? YOu said you have a Honda, depending on the year/model have you disabled/bypassed the eld?

Will let you know about your amp, and thank you for the suggestion, Global.. Say I do decide to stick with the t6's (which I prob will) do you think above mentioned amp / wiring would be a good idea? Im quite fond of the t6's to be quite honest, I just want the right amp.. thanks for the replies!!

I have a 2000 Honda civic , I have not done the big 3 but can do my best to get as much done besides maybe a new alternator.. I have a brand new battery , that's about as far as I've got.. What's the ELD? Please enlighten me!

You're not going to be running much of anything without upgrades to your electrical. Some people are too quick to sell their stuff instead of really helping you. Google Honda ELD, it turns your alternator off when it doesn't sense a load, which it won't from amps. You will need to do the big 3, biggest agm you can fit, and if you're running medium to larger powered amps, you will more than likely need a H/O alt and maybe another battery.

I concur with Manti5. My wife has a Honda Odyssey and her stock electrical can hardly handle 600 rms @ 2 ohm.... You're going to need more upgrades than you got.

im assuming your getting a pair, SET YOUR GAINS CORRECTLY and get this amp MB Quart ONX1.1500D - ONYX Class D Monoblock Car Amplifier/Amp

or an amp similar that puts out 1500ish watts. the 1500 watt amp market is huuuuuuge. but to be honest hondas dont usually have this most high powered alts. running 1500ish watts will require the BIG 3 and a good front bat at minimum
