RE AUDIO sx18d2 sounds terible

I have an RE Audio sx18d2 wired to 1ohm powered by a RE Audio DTS1500.1 amp. Its in a 5.5 cu.ft. box tuned to i think 34hz. I cant seem to tune it right and it keeps clipping. Today it even bottomed out a few times. The box its in right now has a slot port but my boy is building a slightly smaller 4.5-5.0 cu.ft box with an octo-port. Will the new box help or hurt? I know i really need to get it tuned but i live in the middle of nowhere in Virginia. The closest audio shop to me is crutchfield and i dont car for their customer service so i'll have to go it by ear for now.

doubt ur coil hit the backplate on a sx i bet you bottomed out ur spiders. there is no way that sub should have a problem on that amp.

ur probley playing below tunning and clipping it to get it hot like in the other post. if you were closer i would help ya out...

Alot of fail going on here. Sounds like your box is terrible. Post pics of box or GTFO.

6ft is the lowest I'd use for a 18, the sx is a good woofer..

try 6.25 tuned to 35 with 70in^2 for daily..
